About the Loveday Singers

‘Loveday Singers’ have been in existence for 8 years. The members of the choir have very diverse careers ranging from an Insurance Salesman, two IT specialists, a playground designer and a tennis coach to several piano and school teachers! Quite a few of them now have children, who are also interested in singing and performing, so we are thinking of having a training choir in the future!

The choir perform many concerts a year in different venues, but they rehearse and often perform at All Saints’ Church, Woodham in Woking. Weddings and funerals are also part of their work, including a wedding in Guildford Cathedral.

Loveday Singers regularly win the adult classes in Music Festivals as a four part mixed choir, but have been equally successful divided into a Ladies’ Choir (The Red Shoes) and a Men’s Choir (The Red Ties). One of their great strengths is their ability to sing in such a variety of styles and be at home in all of them.

Anna Loveday, their conductor, combines her work as an opera singer and actor with a part-time position as Director of the S7 Sixth Form Colleges’ Consortium. She has, in the past, been Head of Music and Performing Arts and on the Senior Management team in Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges.
